lights dim, speedometer and fuel guage dont work, need help, lots of probs
ok i just took out my h22t setup and went back to a y8, heres a list of my probs.
lights dim - imagine if your were turning your dimmer switch left to right, the lights dim, well thats what my car does, all the lights, interior, headlights all of them, and along with that you can hear some sort of winding nosie. They do not completly blink, they get brighter then dim and its constant. Also it only starts doing this once i hit the gas, as soon as i start the car it doesnt do it, but when i hit the gas it starts. Ive checked the alt, and all ground wires are good.
also my speedometer and fuel gauge doesnt work, the speedometer actually jumps up and down once in awhile.
I know it something electrical but im starting to run out of ideas. i need some help.
I've read abou the alt c wire but that seems to only apply to people who lights get brighter as they hit the gas, mine is a constant bright then dim.
if yo can help please either post or pm. thanks in advance
car is a 97 ex btw running a p28, obd2 - 1 conversion harness thorwing ELD code 20 also.

this happened because my battery in my trunk rolled away. the thing that was holding the battery down broke. the positive connection fell off the battery and my car started to dim. my alternator is probably breaking, but check ur battery connections and ur alternator might be bad. go to autozone and have them check it out.

check your ground conections you probably had the h22 motor grounded better, now you've switched back you missed a ground location. If all that stuff work before then this is most likely the answer, make sure you check the one thats by the windshield washer reservoir over by the tranny.

Check the alt again, cuz it might be working but tell us how many volts is it giving.. Im sure the diode/regulater is faulty inside even tho the alt is working.. You should have a 70volt alt, post how many volts its doing when you take it for test again.

i think i found the problem, not 100% sure but will find out tomorrow. what i did was unplugged the harness from the alternator and the lights stopped the dimming, then i checked the voltage from the alternator to the battery and it was only 12v instead of 14. so im going to change the alternator and see what happens. thanks
