lets play "what the heck is wrong with my car?"
ok gurus:
i have a 92 civic with a blown headgaasket, which i am still driving because i am waiting to get my turbo money ready. these are the symptoms, sometimes (not all the time) i will be stopped at a stop light and the car won't idle normally, the exhuast sounds really choppy, not a smooth solid flow. then when the light turns green and i start to go my baby barely starts to accelerate, i can floor it and get barely any response it just goes putt...putt....putt.... then when i hit around 2-3k rpm it kicks in normally, all the other gears have no problem just first from a stop. i need to fix it cuz it sounds terrible and i look like an idiot. also one more question, if i get a lower compression headgasket do i need to put the turbo on asap or will it be ok for a while without? also i heard with a turbo you should torque down the head studs twice as much what do you guys do? thanks!!

Sounds like you are losing comrpession or misfiring in one of your cylinders. Do a compression test on your motor and see what it might be. Or...you could try fixing that blown headgasket before you cause any more damage to your motor....

its the headgasket. with lack of compression at low RPM it makes it hard for the motor to make any power to get it moving or power anything. get that fixed otherwise you might need more then new headgasket
