let me get this straight...speedo related.
96 civic
So my speedo doesnt work, well sometimes it does and doesnt, i think it doent now, but when i start going it stays at around 20-40km/h....
so i took the cover apart and moved the needle, and it didnt bounce back it stayed in place...so does that mean its the speedo thats broke?
i heard if you move the needle and it springs back then its ok, but if it doesnt spring back its the speedo and not your vss, im i right?

i can confirm from my own personal experience and a buddy's experience. once that needle doesn't move back, you need a new cluster. i'm not saying that you wouldn't be able to swap out the neddle and motor from another cluster (i don't even know if you can), but if you can, getting a new one is just easier.
