I bought some blue bulbs from auto illumination and and on my ex cluster on my 98 civic I get a white spot from the #194 bulb. I tried another blue one and same problem. I want to get LEDs but they offer so many different styles idk which one will distribute the best light. Does anyone know?

it is my understanding that there are no plugin bulbs that wont give hot spots even the ones with the wide angle. ive been told u r better off getting an led strip or two and wire them in

When I had my old '91 SE-R, the p/o installed some LED lights for the gauge cluster. Somehow or another the bulbs started to act up and it would flash like a strobe. I'm assuming it's just some faulty bulbs.

I have hot spots in my leds i put in my Lexus. But at night they all look fine. Just daytime you can really see one spot over others lol.

Why don't you mist black primer over the spot that is "hot" on the back of the gauge face. If you do too much just use mineral spirits and wipe it off and try again.

It's similar to the way honda does the back of the gauge faces to distribute light evenly with the stock bulbs. It'll be like a solid gray color that fades out to a misty gray color.

you just have to have the right leds. ive done multiple gauge clusters, ac controls and what not. Its just a matter of getting the right voltage and it should be fine. try to search for a forum on it. i will look later and see what leds i find for your car

sounds good man, hope it works out. i ordered 100 leds at a time and when i got them i noticed i ordered the 6Volt=FAIL! but as long as you get blue 12volt they should be just fine. Who would have known changing the color of the gauge cluster leds changes the whole look of the inside of the car at night, lol

use those, not leds. my leds had hot spots, those colored incandesents dont.

Those are the ones I used. It's not necessarily a hot spot the bulb isn't blue enough I guess, the 194 bulb. I ordered a extra just incase and they both do the same thing. It's whiter than the other ones.

I had the same problem. I guy on my lexus forum said it was shity quaity bulbs. And also all those bulbs look like the ebay ones I ordered for my lexus cluster. Just my .02

I spent about $80 on various LED bulbs trying to get them to work.

I have since spent $10 on incandescent bulbs and am far happier with the results.

Why don't they sell colored incandescent bulbs for the 3mm Neowedge bulb? (the ones inside the EG rear defroster switch, cruise switch, etc.)

Hm can you show me exactly which ones your talking about? Under train lights I see similar things but I'm not sure if they are exact size that will fit into the OEM twist lock housing as a bulb transplant.

Should be under #74.

I believe almost all the dash lights: Cluster, climate controls, are mostly #74 bulbs.

I'm sure you could shoot them an email. They have good customer service.

Yeah.. no. #74 bulbs are for the cluster/climate control your right. NOT the switches. Those are T1-1/4 3mm Neowedge bulbs.

This worked good up until the RPM Gauges wouldn't fit anymore hahahahaha! I was so angry!!!! But a little bit of sanding and plastic melting it works! The only spots I have are where I melted off the bulbs because the RPM gauge wouldn't fit -_____-

Dude, no I said earlier that I mean the rear defrost switch, cruise control switch, etc.

The color in those switches is determined by the face of the switch. If you pull the switch face off, you'll see there's a blue backing behind the graphic. Even if you put an amber bulb in the switch, it's not going to look the same as a real JDM amber switch.
