so im picking up a del sol 2morow of a kid leaving for the army..needs a few minor things..timing belt and tune up its been sitting...BUTTTTT...it has leather seats????????????? has anyone ever seen stock del sol leather seats..ive searched a bunch of places some people say VERY RARE and some say they are recovered w leather....the dude said his mom bought it new in 94 and its all original...i thought he said they were stock before like the clothe seats but now i find out there leather...id really like to know if they are leather..car came new with the b16???

Leather wasn't stock from Honda. It could have been put on at the dealer though. BTW, if it did come with the B16 the 4th through 6th digit of the vin will be EG2. There were 2 special editions available in other markets (overseas) I believe they both had leather. One was an ugly brownish/orange color interior.

Yes, there were black leather oe del sol seats. I say this because I've actually seen them in person on a 95 Isle Green VTEC (B16).

I couldn't began to tell you how to tell the difference between the oe leather del sol seats and aftermarket seat covers because I've never really looked at them closely for comparison, but I can confirm that they do exist.

They aren't factory. Honda dealers used to farm this stuff out to upholstery shops. New car would come in and before the customer ever saw it, it went to the upholstery shop where the seats were reupholstered in leather.

see exactly...already 1 who says they have seen them in person..and 2 others who say honda sent them out haha...it is a stock b16 because the dudes mom bought it brand new and has alll the paperwork from day one..im glad im getting a steal on this..just odd to see leather

Seen in person really doesn't mean anything, all it tells you is the car has leather seats, good upholstery shops make stuff look factory. Even the '99 - '00 leather Si seats you see aren't factory, they were all done at upholstery shops which is why you rarely see 2 sets exactly the same.

For ALL USDM 1992-2000 Civics and del sols with leather seats:

Not OE. Could be found on new cars though because the dealership would have the seats recovered.

Stitching can vary. They can have different numbers of panels. There may or may not be logos. They can come in various colors.

*IIRC some '92-'95 Civics came with vinyl seats.

i heard it was only JDM and EDM versions had leather guts, and like others here said it coulda been a dealer options

Motegi Leathers are for sale ... yeah for like 1000€ plus shipping from Europe. You better be a die hard fan if you want that.

New Zealand actually got some real leather interiors in their 92-95 hatches. The GTi model. Not bad.
