Leaky Del Sol Question
My '93 Del Sol leaks and it sucks. I know it's because of the seals, and I know Honda wants a lot for them. I've searched and found nothing but people saying to use silicone or a towel to fix the problem, which I don't really want to do, unless it's a last resort. I was wondering, if the 95+ Del Sols came with improved seals to prevent this leaking, then could I simply purchase the top of a 95+ Del Sol and use it with mine to stop the leaking, or will the "new and improved" roofs not fit the earlier models?
Thanks in advance.

93-94 has the problem with the leaky TT. in 95 they improved it, so there are no leaks.
you can either get the 95-97 seals, or lube up the old ones. also, they didn't change the interior of the sol, just the seals.

Right. But, my question is- can I use a 95+ targa top, which already has the better seals on it, on my '93 Sol? (Will it fit, or are the 95+ tops different than the 93-94 tops?)

yes, you can. they didn't change any exterior/interior on the sol, except for the front bumper in 96-97.

If I remember correctly from my sol, the seals were actaully mounted to the car, not just the top...the top O think only takes care of the top of the windows, whereas the leak was more or less comming from the front corner, where the top meets the windshield frame, and that was the seal that needed replacing to keep most of the water out...correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I remember about my 94.

Re: Leaky Del Sol Question (ntensehonda)
Yeah, that's what I was thinking (that the seals on the actual car, not the roof, need to be replaced...), but I just wanted to ask and make double sure.
Thanks again.

I heard there was a recall for all '93 and '94 Sols for the roof seals. They just put '95 seals on it for free. It was already done to mine when I got it, but I'm not sure how long you can wait before they don't have to fix a recall. ('93 is now 12 years old ya know!) As far as lubeing up the seals, durring the summer I use this stuff called "Son of a Gun" on all the dash, doors and seals. It's an armor-all kind of stuff, but I think its way better than armor-all. Its keeps the seals nice and soft. My '94 Sol doesn't leak a drop!

Use dielectric grease. Do not use any petrolium based lubricant.
