exactly what i was going to say.
get some pics.
if your cat was clogged you would get bad gas mileage.
if your o2 is faulty it SHOULD throw a code.
check dizzy and see if cat is clogged

I have a similar problem. Just finished my B16 motor swap and test drove it yesterday for like 10 min and found out a trail of oil leak between the head and the block. I hope it's not the head gasket since I bought the motor straight from a running car.

You've got a leaking cam seal or VTEC solenoid gasket bro, it may also be the dist. O ring. Honda headgaskets don't normaly leak oil when the go bad, they leak coolant. What you have pictured is typical of and older B VTEC leaking oil from various seals. I've been through this song and dance before - oil gathers around the edges of the head gasket and it looks like that is the source. No worries, replace the seal(s).

That things wet all the way up to the valve cover. Take it to a car wash a degrease it and then check it often so you can get an idea where its comming from. Could be valve cover, cam seal, diz o-ring or shaft seal or v-solenoid. It's pooling on the flat surface of the block so it "looks" like the hg. Remember gravity, oil wont travel up hill

Dude, your solenoid leaking isn't going to get the front of the motor up to the valve cover wet.

That head is wet all the way to the top of the picture. That's not from the Solenoid. How is oil going to travel forward and up from the back of the head to the front?

*subscribed* I seem to have almost this same exact leak, if not precisely THIS leak. Could anyone suggest a list of possibilities? So I can start sorting out possibilities and fetch part numbers? Thanks in advanced!

Hey what it cost ya, $7. Who knows, may solve your problem. When its wet above the solenoid tho I'm guessing valve cover.Like I said before take it to car wash and degrease it. How can you tell when the whole top of the engine is covered in oil. I spray mine down every time I wash my car so it's clean and any leaks are immediatly noticable.

spray brake clean and clean it up like someone said before me. Im willing to be its the dist o-ring. If i was you i would just replace the dist o-ring, vtec solenoid gasket and valve cover gasket. This should take care of your problem. I've done a couple engines where there is a lot of oil build up and the dist o-ring is dry as no other. This shouldn't run u that much money either if you do it yourself

Well, now that i looked at the pics more it could be also from your vtec soleniod. Its like an odd shapped gasket that connects the sleniod to the head.

So are you saying the oil from his engine is defying gravity or can levitate?

No.
His engine is just dirty as hell. But it is apparent that there is oil leaking from somewhere. Thats just how my engine looked when it had an oil leak.
My vtec soleniod was leaking, clear as day, changed the o-ring on the top part and the gasket. Was still leaking and it was coming from that corner were doeboi's is pictured.Cam seal also leaked when i got the engine had to re-place that. So its a process of elimination doeboi.....

No **** it's dirty and leaking from somewhere but the simple fact is when oil leaks it leaks down, not up and forward. Just keep replacing **** hoping you get it right or use some common sense, seems to be a lack of it these days.
