Default LCA issues on hatch

In my 93 SI when you drive down the road if you swerve frome side to side the car feels really loose in the rear end almost like it has 4 wheel steering I guess. I went to Les schwab and had them check it out since I really noticed it after I put new tires on the car (went from 185/60/14 to 195/55/15) they said that the bushings in the LCAs were shot and that is likely causing the "loose" feeling in the rear.

Does this sound right? I dont want to go through all this truoble to fix it and have it be some thing else. I know sooner or later it needs to be fixed but im poor right now. Also its not blown struts or any thing like that I dont think, the car is riding on HKS coilovers.

It could be some other things, but that is a definite possibility. Look under the car and check to see if they look rotted out.

Are you using stock shocks? And what drop height are you at?

I'd say either your shocks are blown or your LCA bushings are rotted away/dead.

.....and the lack of a rear sway bar doesn't help the situation either.
good luck

no, no stock shocks the car is dropped on HKS coilovers and its not slammed or any thing although when I got it it was.

Yes no rear sway bar does suck can how hard is it to put one on these cars? Back when I bought the car the guy said it had GSR brakes how can you tell the difference between GSRs and the ones on a 93 SI?

thanks

I'd be willing to bet it's just your rear tires sidewalls flexing. My all season tires are proxxess except for one rear goodyear. The goodyear flexes more then the others. Very interesting feeling.

try puting your tires at 35-38 psi and see if that helps.

they are all at 38psi and even the guy at les schwab could feel it.

I know the bushings are bad im just wondering if the bad bushings are causing the vauge feeling back there

the bushings are notorious for rotting out on those cars so i would say that it sounds bout right.

And if the car was slammed on stock shocks, its more than likely those could be blown too.

So where is the best place to get these bushings? Honda wants like over $100 for the 4 that are needed, im sure there has to be an after market bushing thats better and cheeper than the OEM
