YOU should be just trying to hold the gas peddle around 3800 rpm, then when you want to go just let off the clutch. you will probable have to figgure what rpm is best for your car

Me on the other hand have the full throttle launch feature by using uberdata and it lets me push the peddle all the way down and it keeps my rpms at 38-3900 rpms. so all i have to do is let off the clutch

it like hops a little bit and then it seems like it just bogs down like the rpm drop and then go up rather than just pull smoothly through

ya i edited my post to make it more clear. hold your clutch in (i like to hold it right about where it feels like it is going to catch), and the rev up to were you want, and then dump the clutch.

if it bogs down some you might want to try to bring the revs up a little.

what are you launching at now? i would just go up prob 100 intervals. that way you dont burn all the way through first.

its going to depend on alot of factors.

tires
suspenstion
wheel size
and motor work.

everyone launches at a different rpm. you want it to catch right at vtec. if it bogs in the begining try putting it at a higher rpm. good luck with the srt. little info if he gets you at the launch just stop cause its over. srt's pull in 3rd. get him by a car off the line and its yours.

why not race him from a roll?

Anyway, chirping 2nd and 3rd isnt exactly the best for trying to go fast. That chirp means that you are losing traction, which is what you want. You need to shift to where it is quick, and percise but without chirping.
Launching will just take practice. Some people love to rev real high and feather the clutch, others like to dump the clutch at lower rpms. Just take your car out and practice in safe areas. You will find what works for you the best.
So what car are you racing tonight? People are saying an SRT...assuming SRT-4? Those cars will pull top end due to their turbo. A friend of mine had basic bolt ons with his, and it was dead even with us up to 100mph, then after that he would start to walk.
Good luck, and be safe tonight
