Last run of the season. turbo SOHC times, do they look right?
ok just got done at milan dragway in michigan for there last run of the season. and was both happy and dissapointed in the times. tell me what you think
92 eg hatch full interior
225k d16z6 stock internals
saab 900 turbo .42 .48 boosting @ 10.7lbs consistant
ssautochrome headers
tial 38mm wastegate
open downpipe
JCR 5" intercooler w/ mandrel bend piping
greddy BOV
hondata s200b stock NA base map *UNTUNED*
*DRAG RADIALS @ 9psi*
First run: bogged on launch... but pulled like hell at top end
Second run: launched like a stunna! but shifting into 4th gear blew off a charge piping coupling...
do these seem to be consistant with all other SOHC turbo setups boosting @ 10psi untuned? it seems kinda slow to me...

Somethings seriously wrong then. Try a compression test, then just get it tuned.

your 60 foot times suck no offence ive run worse
get them to at least a 2.2 and then well see

You can definately hook better than a 2.3-2.5 60ft, esp. with drag radials. I can even pull a 2.2 60ft with street tires..well, sometimes. Try to get your 60ft time down next season and you should be seeing faster ETs.. probably low 14s.
I hit the same ETs you did and I'm only boosting 5.5psi on my D16Z6 Coupe. I pulled a 2.5 60ft and trapped 94mph.. so I say you should definately be faster since you're trapping 98mph. You can usually guestimate what your ETs should be by looking at your trap speed. Just practice your launch.. good luck.

i was at Maryland International Raceway last weekend for imports vs. domestics and i saw a 92 hatch with the exact same set up as you stock internals and boosted 9psi run an 11.5 . . . so id venture to say theres somtin wrong. But ill never knock a singlecam! you gotta love um!
good luck!

Using the ET method, I come up with 142 horsepower
Using the Speed method, I come up with 173 horsepower
at 2350 lbs

If he's running 11.5 then I wouldn't say the set-up is the "exact same". This guy's not even trapping anywhere near an 11-second ET.

BTW, that's not really accurate. I tried it before.

silicone with zip ties, just kidding, i am using pipe clamps... i guesss i should get some more heavy duty ones, boosting on the highway always pops the same one off :-\
all in all i think i need to get a really good tune, and work on launching... then this thing could yeild mid 13's... or somthing... thanks again all...
