Default Lambda Sensor Help..

Hello,

I have a 92 CRX Del Sol SiR B16a2

Basically, my CEL came on about a year ago, it used to randomly come on and if you switched the Engine off it would go away, I was getting black smoke at VTEC and Very low MPG

I got Error Code 41 (Primary Oxygen Sensor A Heater circuit)

I bought a cheap 4 wire Lambda sensor from ebay, and had to cut my plug off and wired it up, the light stayed on all the time now, i tried the wires in every way but it just stayed on.

Ive now bought 4 Sensors from the forums (From B16 Engines), and obviously now its not the Sensor thats defective it must be something else.

Im still getting code 41!

Maybe when i wired the universal it might have done something to the ECU because of the voltage?

Or does anyone think it may be a split in the wire etc.

Please help

Thanks
Jamie

You need to get a service manual and check the voltage to the sensor itself. because its possible that one or more of the wires is broken from some point. Causing the O2 to always malfunction.

its not that hard to use a universal one. There is no guarantee that he ****ed it up, but it is possible.

I agree. I've wired in several universals with no problems, but it's not hard to mix your wires or something.

I know honda-tech loves to talk crap on universals, but I have a Bosch universal that's so far outlasted 2 OEM honda sensors (really 3 if you count the secondary o2).

Thanks for the help, I put a universal one on for 2 days, and i bought 4 different OEM ones from people breaking B16's. as honda wants £187 for one.

Each of them doesnt turn the light out still get Code 41, does it mean the actual sensor doesnt work or does it just mean the heater part doesnt?

Is there a fuse anywhere for it?

What should i do next?

Thanks

ya I rewired my stock one because I had to relocate it to the bottom of my downpipe, so it had to be extended about 12 inches. I just labled the wires and cut them, and then I extended them and wired it back up with the plug and all.

I used to have a CAT but it took it off, there was a secondary sensor in there, i have an EK9 test pipe on there now, i just left the wires from the cat sensor, maybe this is my problem? can anyone help, on the wiring diagrams it says that the primary and secondary are linked?

Thanks

well isnt your code for Primary? And your car is OBD2 and you dont have a secondary either?

I had a Sensor on the Cat but thats a temperature sensor which puts on a light on the dash if it overheats i think, im not sure if it has anything to do with it though?

So i should now get a volt meter on the wires and check them?

And then trace the wires back?

I think this is a problem with the crx which will never be solved

Thanks
