lag in vtec

Default lag in vtec

i swaped a 99 b16 into my 2000 civic coupe and changed it to obd1 with a jumper harness and running a p72 ecu... well when i hit vtec i can hear it kick in but it has a lag like for example its not pulling harder ...what could cause that?

use a p30 if you converted it to obd1
or a chipped p28

X2, hit up the FAQ section and find what ecu is the correct one for the B16

p72 is a gsr ecu.

the correct ecu for a b16a2 is a P2T
