lack of heat in my 1992 SiR?
if i let my car idle for two hours or so, its like luke warm temperature inside, then after driving it for about 10 minutes its not even that any more, its just freezing cold, when it is set on defrost it is very week, the left side is barely pushing anything out, and on the right side its the same exept for a section of about 4 inches, the air that is coming out is warm, but not hot like it should be.. my friend has the exact same car, and its heat is way better then mine... any advice would be gratefully accepted

make sure your climate control is doing its job. see if its opening the valve that lets the coolant into your heater core under your dash

it takes 2 hours for it to get warm it should take 10-15 mins to get to proper temp.

yeah man i know, i'm trying to figure out why it doesn't warm up that fast, like that air that does come out is kinda warm, its just so weak that it doesnt make it warm in there at all, unless it idles for like 2hours

Re: lack of heat in my 1992 SiR?
Could be a couple things:
1. Bad heater core
2. Bad valve not letting coolant into core.
3. No thermostat/bad thermostat. Not letting the coolant get hot means your heater core won't get hot. If I remember correctly, OEM Honda thermostats fail in the open position, so if it's bad, it's like not having one there at all (which could be the case too...)
So check those out and good luck!

start with the climat control wires that open and close the valve that feeds the heater core with coolant. before you suspect the core make sure its getting coolant

check for air in your cooling system....next time you start it up do it with the radiator cap off and check to see if bubles come out. do this with the proper amount in the resivoir and with the heat on full blast. let engine reach normal operating temp.
