Default KYB adj. settings ***need quick help***

I just bought a 94 civic hatchback. It came with KYB adjustables and ground
control coilovers (w/o the adjusting tool). It rides way to low and stiff and bumby as hell. So my 1st question is, what are the softest and hardest setting on the kyb shocks. My 2nd question is, how do i go about adjusting the coilover without the coilover tool? Thanks for your help in advance.

Easiest way to adjust the ride height is loosen the spring seat with an allen wrench with the car jacked up. Then just turn it. When you tighten back up the allen bolt, only tighten it until you can't turn the collar anymore.

yup. my GC's didnt come with the spanner wrench, but i've never had any problems moving it by hand. "1" is the softest, "4" is the hardest on the shocks. i find that if your raise the ride height, the ride gets smoother. the shock operates in its more "normal" range of motion.

the top one of the 2 adjusts the height and the bottom one locks the top one in from spinning

are you sure you have ground controls? GC's only have one collar with an allen screw to lock the perch. see the gold ring thingy at the bottom of the spring:

if you have dual locking perches (like skunk2's, etc), you'll probably need a spanner wrench to separate them (turn the top one up, the bottom down).
