Default KUMHO TIRES.. Help me find out what happend!

Alright.. these tires have been on my wheels for about 5 months.. been rotated and taken care of... well for the past week.. i kept thinking i was hearing like a flat tire on my car.. so id pull over at a gas station check my tires and make sure pressure was ok.. and they were fine.. no problems.. well i was driving to work this morning doing about 80 and i heard a loud noise..sounded like something broke off my car.. and my car started riding REALLY smooth.. like to smooth.. almost like the eye of a hurricane.. you know something worse is coming.. so then.. i feel my car kinda jerkin.. and i was like ****.. i had a blow out and when i pulled over the tire started to smoke and i immediatly got to a stop so i wouldnt **** my rim up. well i pull over.. and i see this!!

http://www.we-todd-did-racing....DE%3D

So someone please tell me what the hell happend.. cause i think its manufacture error.. and im gonna call and bitch on monday.. and they are gonna give me a new set of tires.. hopefully. Thank god it didnt **** up my car. But does this look normal.. of course not KUMHOS's SUCK!!!!!

From the look of the pic, your tires looks very worn out, very very worn out with tires wear. If there is any warranty I think the manufactor would try to deflect it somehow because you have camber wear.

the wear is probably from when it blew out... i would definitly make the call, sidewalls should blowout like that.

i never liked my kumhos b/c the sidewalls always felt too thin when making turns
guess that goes to show they are.

the camber wear wasnt actually that bad.. the tred was worn.. but they still held up very well.. didnt slide in rain or anything.. and they didnt have camber wear for long.. maybe like a week or so. and it wasnt even that many miles on them. i just dont see how the side of the tire decided to just fall apart!

Are you sure you didnt over inflate them. If you filled your tires in the morning or when the air is cold, once you start driving around the air will expand causing higher pressures in the tires then what you put in. Just food for thought.....

I am riding on 205/50 15 Kumho Supra Ecstas and they are wearing fine.

Your tires look like those big rig tires when they get blown out. I had a set of Falkens before and took them back because I started noticing 'stress cracks/creases' (that is what they called them) around the same area that blew on your tire. They replaced those w/ some Nitto's.

Yeah, bring those back and get a replacement set!

did you hit somethign? looks like someone came and stabbed your tire when you were
driving. i also think its manufacture error or something. no street tire should shread
like that no matter how over inflated or worn the tires are.
where did you get the tire from? local store like wheel works? if so jus take it back there
and ask kindly for a new tire. if the store cant help you i say call manufacture and see
whats up. if they ignore you then file a law suit. cause no way in hell a tire will do that
under normal conditions.

you're car and yourself not injured right?

the location of the split makes me ponder whether or not this tire was rubbing with the inside of the wheel well under the fender, so you had better be sure there are no marks on the tire indicating that as the cause otherwise the tire mfg will see you as the responsible party for the incident.

glad you didnt spinout though!

Looks like the tire was underinflated, overhead the sidewall and blew out, or it had been run at long periods underinflated and finally gave out. That will not be warrentied becuase it looks like operator error. Also it looks like you had a bad aligment cause your TOE is definally out, camber would not have worn the tire that fast.
Kumhos are great tiresI have them on my car, my wifes car and auttocross on victorracers, they balance well and ride well.

As far as I know, those are directional tires, right??? That is what happened to my friends tire when he put it on the opposite direction of what it was manufactured to roll.....

32psi? thats way tooooo low for such a low profile. factory specs is 36psi and u got lower profile so u should run an extra few psi like around 38. i work on the new jersey parkway and picked up many tire treads off the highway. most of them same off just like that. and when i look at the treads the corners looks more worn out then the rest of the tires wich means they were under inflated. underinfalted causes them to over heat and come apart just like that or the treads will delaminate. expecially now caz its so hot.

also most cheeper tires tend to have thin sidewalls my friend has a set similar to kumhos but crapper sidewalls are very thin for such a low profile and it shows the side wall on the rear right had a big *** bubble lucky we caught it in time. he never hit any pot holes.

I'm agree with this EG2 SiR. When you had your 712's rotated, did you tell the shop that these tires can only be rotated back to front or front to back? One cannot rotate the tires from side to side.

What side of the car were your tires on? From the looks of the blowout you either:
A:Had a bubble from rubbing against something and it finally gave or
B:You had little to no wear.
I see over 30 tires a day (work at pep boys) and know what causes most of the blowouts. I would look in that wheel's wheel well for rubb marks.

looks to me like underinflation,32 is too low, they are suppose to be inflated to 44,or atleast my kumho's are.then it looks like the rim was riding on the tire from underinflation, causeing it to wear it thin and bust.does it say 32 psi max?

check your other tires,id take one and have it dismounted to see what the inside of it looks like, see if the rim has worn other ones down on the inside as well.

By any chance, did your tires rub against the fender? That tear looks very uniform and straight like someone said earlier about putting a knife to your tire while you're driving.
