Konig (V-racing) strut bars - crap? Or am I just crazy...
Alright... next topic up for discussion.
Would someone be so kind as to explain the suspension differences (basic that is)between a 92-95 civic and my 97 coupe. I went to install some strut tower braces last nigt and couldn't get even one (of three) to go on. First of all, the stock intake box on my DX get's in the way for the front upper. Second, the rear upper that I orderd had the same diagonal bolt holes as the front one. (The front holes are diagonal ie: 10:30 and 4:30 on a clock... The tops of the strut towers in the rear however, or the bolts that they connect to are straight up and down (or 12:00 and 6:00) This problem, I'm pretty sure is a result of some moron putting the wrong bar (or mounting brackets anyways) in the box. Lastly, the rear lower tie bar wouldn't fit. It was too wide (by about 2 inches on each side).
Now it gets weird, or at least this is where my question really comes into play... There was another dude in the garage earlier that evening that had a 92-95 4 door coupe, and his lower tie bar was too narrow. We held it up to mine and found that he har ordered the wrong one. (It would have bolted right up to mine without any problem) So, he finished his stuff and took off, come to find out that mine was to wide and would have bolted right up to his car. Is this difference in width due to a change in years? (95 vs. 97) or a change in doors? (4dr vs. 2dr)
Thanks ya'll
*damn that was long...
