Default Koni Install Question?

I am installing only one Koni on the drivers side rear. Now for the question, I do not have a spring compressor, however my friend has one at work. Can I take the entire assembly out, the old koni, and the eibach pro kit out as an entire assembly and then give it to my friend to get the spring switched to the new koni? Also I am just replacing the drivers side rear koni, does anyone think this will pose any problems by not replacing both sides?

Thanks
James

Once you take the Koni out you can take it to your friend and have it removed. More than likely the Eibach is shorter than stock and may not need a compressor to remove. But if you have a friend it is probably best to have him use his compressor. It should not cause any problems by just replacing one strut.

Thanks guys, yeah I am gonna attack this job tonight and wanted to make sure the shock would not blow off when I took the screws off. I really wanted to replace both of the rear koni's but money was a little tight and the rep at Koni even said it wasn't needed thanks guys. What are the torque ratings for the bolts on the shocks or won't that matter?

Thanks

You never said what year civic, but here are the ek torque specs. Redid my suspension
last night so the numbers are still in my head.

EK
Lock-nut 22lb/ft
Strut mount bolts 36lb/ft
Lower flange bolt 40lb/ft
