knocking sound when motor under load

knocking sound when motor under load
i have a 92 civic with a 96 gsr motor that knocks when under load. The knocking increases as my speed increases in any gear. There is no knocking when idling or just reving the motor in neutral. Any ideas??

If it only does it when in gear might have something to do with clutch/tranny. Most likely, if there was a problem with the motor, you would hear the knocking at all times.

that sounds exactly like the problem i had with my D16Y8. It's more than likely a spun berring or rod knock. Time for a tear down
