Knocking noise coming from front left side?

Knocking noise coming from front left side?
ok i have a 00 civic ex. i am getting a knocking noise when i start slowing down but when i hit the brakes it stops. the best way i can describe the sound is it sounds like i am running on a flat tire but i can feel the knock in the floor board not that its hitting the floor board but i can feel it. and of course the faster i am going the faster the knock when i let off the gas. can someone help? thanks
