Knocking on b17a please help
Hey guys i just picked up a 94 civic with a b17 swap in it. I heard some knocking when i bought it and thought it needed a valve adjustment. After getting a valve adjusment done to it i can still hear the knocking sound. I can hear it when i rev it while in neutral and when im driving the car. I'm stomp because there is no oil leak what so ever that i can see. 180 compression all 4 cylinder, no power loss, no over heat (drove it for 2 hrs home), no check engine light, healthy idle, no signs of oil pressure loss (oil level is fine), doesn't smoke (even when vtec crosses over). Im afraid its a spung bearing or an early stage of it but when i listen to the motor when its running i can't really tell where its coming from. The only thing that comes to mind is the fuel injectors. When i listen very carefully it seems like its coming from the injectors closing and opening but i doubt it they would make that much noise at 5k rpm. You can tell its not normal for something to be knocking/ticking that loud. I can hear it best when im inside the car reving it, or driving it. When its just idling i can't hear it. Anyone with a tip, or an idea on whats going on?

Re: (blu3g)
If the sound changes in intensity with engine load (ie. gets louder when you step on the gas or let the engine decel) it's most likely in the bottom-end, if not then its probably in the valvetrain.
