Knock sounds at full lock while going slow??
For some reason when im going slow and i have the tires turned all the way or almost all the way ill sometimes get this weird KNOCK sound. It only happens in the above scenario, driving around and all is perfect, just when i go slow to make a turn from a stop it will make like this KNOCK sound, sometimes once, sometimes like 3 times.
To describe the sound it almost sounds like wheel hop but the wheels arent hopping and im just easing out into the street...
Also I have an LSD could the sound just be that?

but its not like the clicking you hear when an axle is bad- ive heard that it is a much more distinct knocking, maybe it is the cv joint as suggested but i dunno, its not consistent

well i just got the swap done, and i just noticed the knocking after i got the swap.
So I would say i just noticed it but i dunno how long it was going on pre-swap.
Sometimes it doesnt even happen...
what risks am i running if i try to take this to NY(6hrs)? I mean, will the axle fly off and ill go spinning out of control?
I think its AXLE related and CV JOINT, cause the joint is more of a click and this is more of a knock.
Like i said, only happens sometimes at low speeds and im trying to replaceit before the trip but i need to know what risks im running taking it to NY on this axle..

99.9% of the time, nothing will happen with a bad/worn axle. that being said...
in 1993, i was going down the highway in my old civic. out of nowhere (no clicking, no warning signs...nothing) my car started to dart back and forth across 3 lanes of traffic. it scared the **** outta me and my girlfriend. no matter how hard i held the steering wheel, it would rip outta my hands. a mile later it was fine. the next morning on the way to work, i went round a corner and the axle just blew apart, into pieces on the ground.
so, it is possible that a bad axle culd cause you to wreck the car. likely, doubtfull. but, it still can happen.
