knock sensor question...

Default knock sensor question...

on a d16y7 with a z6 head... does not having a knock sensor wired up make the car go into limp mode? if there is anyone that can help i would appreciate it.... just dont send me the link do the step by step mini me swap already have that..

also would vtec engage without the knock sensor?

no there is no knock sensor on it... it is a 97 dx but we did the z6 swap

I think what he is saying is would this cause a CEL, or is it something else?

what ecu are you running?? if you are running ex ecu 96-00 it will look for knock sensor. If you are running p28 it will not look for it

the knock sensor is in the block not the head.. so you need a p28 ecu and it will not look for it..

yea im running the ex ecu... we are gonna try an hook one up 2morrow.... hopefully if i hook that up it will get it out of limp mode... but im also pulling a emissions code....
