knock sensor problem
ok while battleing a misfire problem I broke the knock sensor while unplugging it to troubleshoot. I got an ebay sensor to replace it. Now even after fixing the misfire I have a cel for knock sensor. seller sent a replacement and still get the cel.
I did not have a cel with the oem sensor even during the horrific misifre through all cylindars.
Are these cheap sensors just too sensitive? I am going to fill up with 91 oct and give that a try.
Any ideas

Re: knock sensor problem
Did you reset the ECU after the installation? What's the specific OBD2 code? Have you tested the KS wire?
There should be no need to run high octane gas.

Re: knock sensor problem
it is on a 98 ex auto. So this morning I had pulled the back-up fuse and filled with 91octane. drove the 35 miles home. no cel.
I had been reseting and getting the cel within 8-10 miles. have you seen these ebay sensors just being very sensitive?

Re: knock sensor problem
You may want to check your ignition timing. There should be no need to run 91 octane on your engine.
