The D16Y7 engine does not have a knock sensor.

when i was thinking about staying obd2a with a z6 block i was contemplating tig welding a bung to the rear of the block to fix the knock issue. since i ended up just going obd1 i can't say how well that idea would have worked though. that being said, how and where are you installing the sensor exactly?

A y7 comes threaded for it but the ECU does not read for it. You obviously have the right ECU for the sensor. It is seriously jammed under that runner and the easiest way to get it on is to just spend 5 minutes getting the IM off. Only bad thing is wiping the coolant off. Easy thing to do for VTEC to work.

hmm guess i didn't take that into consideration that they might have left the bung there since they're both d16y engines. the z6 definitely didn't have anything like that lol
