KILLED IT! (56k go get a drink this may take a while)
Well heres what happend i was on the interstate just playing around and droped back to 3rd and took it to 6500 shifted to fourth tapped the gas and boom. I get off the interstate stop at the gas station pushed in the clutch and she died. Took it home pulled the head off today. and this is what i found.
The clip that holds on the retatiner cam off from from the previous owners install and let the valve get the hell nocked out of it by the piston. Live and learn i quess.

But your coolant looks to be in good shape But hey man I will pitch in 5 bucks to help you get a new engine. I would give you more but I'm a student and I'm broke most of the time. I do know how it feels to have a car that doesn't work though. Good luck.

Re: KILLED IT! (MeanD)
that valve droped because you were using an itr cam on a automatic b16 with single valve springs. not because the retainer clip came off. that itr cam was floating those valves.

You sure about that? He said he only brought it up to 6500 rpms, and it was AFTER he shifted from 3rd to 4th that it blew up. I don't think you'd get sudden valve float at around 4K when it was running fine above that beforehand...

Re: (mountaindewguy)
When the timing was retarted it ran like crap idled like crap and used alot of gas. it was very slow i got beat by a stock 98 ls. no offense to you b18b but a stock one verses a b16 hatch that pretty shitty
