ive seen this done on a few cars b4 that ive worked on and i never got around to askin how its done..
i have a cruise control botton on my left side of the wheel thats not working anymore due to the swap and i want to make that switch as the "kill switch" how would i get around to doing that? like i want to make it that the car will not start if the "cc" botton is not turned on.. how will i be able to get it done?
anyhelp would be awesome.. thanks alot guys

Re: kill switch? (KnightX)
I'm not exactly sure how to do it but you will need to go through the steering column like you would with a change in the stereo if you had radio controls on the steering wheel. Then you would have to wire that button/the control wire for that button to the ignition and do it that way but one way you could find out how to do that would be look at the installation manuals for a aftermarket kill switch and find out how that is wired up and then instead of using the button set-up from the kill switch kit you would just wire it through the cruise control set up. I have never had a kill switch in a car I have owned but to do it shouldn't be too hard of a job its gonna be alot of research on your part to do it but it sounds like a cool idea. I hope I gave you some where to start as far as in your car but I would look at a install manual because it might be able to give you an idea of where you need to wire the control wire from the cruise control too to make it work.
Any way gl with the mod and when you find out make sure it ends up online so others can use it too cause that sounds like a decent idea if it works.

Re: kill switch? (KnightX)
off hand .. u would need to trace the wires that run to the switch.. im guessing cut the ign wire, wire up a relay and when the key is in, clicked to the second one.. press one of the 2 cruse control buttons and engine starts.

what i did was went to the boneyard and removed the cruise button and cut the harness along with it. and like explained in the security FAQ just do a continuity test. I did it at work one day when i was bored and actually wrote down the wire colors but don't remember where i put it.
