Default Keyless Entry 97 Civic

Hey guys I know you guys probably get this question all the time but I really want this fixed and couldn't find anything on it in the FAQs

I put in a aftermarket radio in my 97 EX coupe and the dome light and keyless entry stopped working. I've already wedged the OEM radio in the back and connected the green plug into it which gave me the dome light back but I still haven't figured out the keyless entry.

I was told I needed to buy a connector to give it power so my question is do I only need to splice in a few wires or do I need to do them all? Tomorrow I'll take the panels off and take pics of what I have so far

This is what I bought:

Nope. There's a different adapter that has two white connectors on them.

to be honest your situation makes no sense to me, I have a 97 civic also but I'm glad it came with the optional 6 disc cd changer in the trunk

I might have that.

nvm I found pics.

@Jkillah
The keyless entry and dome light in the 96-98 civics are in the OEM radios so when I put in my aftermarket radio I lost all that. I'm trying to wire in both radios so I can get my aftermarket radio and keyless entry/ dome light

Plugging the B connector into your stock 96-98 EX radio should have restored both the dome light and keyless functions.

this is what i used.

you dont have to keep the radio in the car for the dome to work. just hook the 2 wires up in the doc, last picture..and your good for the dome.

I actually just got it working. Olegles was right, you need the 12v, ground and the red one which was ignition or something like that.

Drew if you need help let me know

I was just trying to figure this out as well. Great place to find help for Honda. Do I need a stock 96-98 radio or just the wiring?

You need the stock radio and it has to be spliced in with your new aftermarket radio meaning you'll have to keep it in your car. I tucked mine behind the cupholder

This is what you need: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-METRA-70...9e62df&vxp=mtr

You can get it at BestBuy or somewhere else but it'll cost you around $30
