key out of car....its still on lol...is that normal?
ok so ive been doing alot with my car...and had to remove the entire dash..and now that its back in ...and everything is plugged in...im wondering if this is normal...
when the car is on...and the little stick on the left (black one) on the left of the steering wheel is twisted twice (i think its the light changer or watever) anyways when its twisted twice and the car is on....i cant turn it off...i remove the key...its still on.....once the key is out....to turn the car off...i have to twist the black thing back twice..to turn the lights off...and then the car turns off....is that normal? it wasnt like that before...

not normal. could be something like melted wires... i would think something around the steering colmn like wires are touching each other.. probably best bet you would want to remove the dash check for any wires that are touching or that have gotten stripped, tape it up. start up the car and see if you still have the problem.

Re: (ifIexplode)
So if your headlights are on, your car will continue to run with the ignition in the OFF position and the key out and will only turn off when you turn the headlights off? And why did you take your dash apart if you dont even know that the "little black thing" is the headlight switch?? sounds like you mixed some wires up..Do the headlights even work?

yes the headlights work...
Yes thats exactly the problem.... When the headlights are on my car continues to run with the ignition in the OFF position even with the key out.....only if i turn off the headlights will the car turn off.
Also When i start the car the headlights do not work, untill i turn them on. Before it used to be different and they worked even when I didnt turn them on twice...probably was a safety precaution to make sure their always on at night.
