Default Keeping AC with a B16 swap on a 6th gen

yea yea yea i know "this has been covered, search n00b!"

heres what i have found out searching...everyone has said to use the DelSol DOHC VTEC A/C bracket for EG and EF chassis. I have heard so much conflicting information reguarding keeping a/c on the 6th gen thats why im asking.

do i need the same bracket? or will the stock B16 bracket from the 99-00 SI work with the A/C on my 99 DX

thanks

you will need to buy the p54 a/c bracket from 94-95 delsol.

if you buy a 99-00 Si swap the bracket should be on there already that is what you need i woulnd't buy anything else since it was made for a 6th gen civic w/ A/C

i've got a 97 ex, and the b16 AC/ mount did NOT fit the a/c compressor.

you will need the p54 bracket as far as i know. I just took my A/C out, and i live in the south, so i'm suffering....but oh well.

He's right - my 99 was the same. the 99 si p30 DID NOT WORK. only 2 of the holes line up.

If its a P30 bracket it will not work it has to be the P54.

i have seen some swaps come really complete and had the A/C compressor on it so you may get lucky, IMO i would buy the B series compresser used from someone on here it would be cheaper than the a/c bracket

Get the P54 bracket and call it a day.

I had the P54 bracket in my 96 coupe and I run the P54 bracket in my 97 hatch that I drive now.

Here is the part #:

38930-P54-000

shut up....you do not know what you are talking about

and a P54 bracket (from a del Sol) is not the only bracket that will work. Order a 97 CRV a/c bracket. Its a P2J or P7J i forget the exact number but it is something like that. Plus this bracket is about $50 cheaper than the P54 bracket. I've been using this bracket in my car for the past year and just ordered another one for my 95 hatch with a B18C1 with stock compressor because my cousin just dropped a b20 into his 99 coupe and needed it cuz my car was off the road for a while.

EDIT: the cheaper CRV bracket part number is: 38930-P7J-000 found it here for $60

del sol one is $110

from what i was told the si mount will not work becuse only two wholes will bolt up and if you the si mount and si compressor it will bolt up but the lines will not fit you would have to get custom lines.

i was told to get a delsol vtec model ac bracket dont know from what year i ordered the one from a 96-97 model i believe dont know if it will work till next week when i do the swap they said this will bolt up to my motor using my stock compressor and lines

Yes, it does work. Im almost 100% sure but I know the 97 one works for sure but they changed the bracket after a certain year so just make sure you order the 97 one.

The bracket comes bare with no bolts or pulleys but u can just use the ones off the single cam bracket i believe
