keep my civic and go talon?
I have a 93 vx with a d16z6, light suspension mods, rota 15 inch wheels, and some others stuff. I havent gone to the drag strip with it but it should run low 15's.(alot of experienced people said that to me) I was wondering why I should keep my civic when compared to getting an awd 94 talon.
I'm going to auto-x my car so i figured a talon would be a better car. Give me some good info/opinions please. thanks guys

wrecked my 93 civic ex, went out and bought a 95 talon turbo fwd, even in stock trim, corners good, and well.......the turbo is pretty sweet too

The AWD turbo will give you advantage on slick surface.
If you plan to AutoX, you have advantages from January to March and November-December when the surface is either wet or has some ice. (If you live in the north east)
On dry warm day when good tires can get a good grip of the pavement (enough to accelerate quick), the extra weight of the Talon ( AWD system and bigger body) will be a disadvantage because the smaller cars will change direction quicker.
In Auto X, brute force of the engine does not necessarily mean a car will be quick like drag racing.
It all about balance of power and handling. Having enough power to accelerate and sustain high corner speeds as well as be able to transition from one turn to the other is the key.

Re: keep my civic and go talon? (
I was in the same exacr dilemma a few months back but I decided to keep my beloved EG and paint it and eventually put a GSR in there....
good luck on your choice!
PS: With just a few mods...a Talon can easily be in the low 12's/11's...
go for a 92 and up if you are getting one (stronger rear)

Re: keep my civic and go talon? (93 MR EJ1)
why not get an Eclipse instead?
I wanted to sell my hatch and get a 97 Turbo AWD but they are problem cars so I'm keeping my hatch, painting it dropping an engine in and buy a talon at the end of the year.
