k2o type-s in 93 hatch
ok i have a few questions for the guys who have done k swaps into their EGs. i was made an offer today to buy a totaled rsx type-s with a good engine and trans. i was wondering if it would be better to purchase a type s swap or to just get the other parts needed to swap the k20 in my EG. now i am guessing that i already have most of the parts. i have engine, trans, ecu, wiring, sensors etc. the only thing i think i need to purchase would be shift linkage(OR CAN I USE EG OR TYPE S) and motor mounts. if there are any other parts or anything that i missed let me know

You will need custom mounts for your application, either hasport, hybrid-racing or avid K series to eg mounts, custom fuel lines, use the rsx shift linkage, your eg linkage won't work. I suggest getting the Karcepts shifter adapting plate for a cleaner oem look. Brian G is the man behind Karcepts and he's also known for outstanding customer service. Also use the rsx shifter box too, unless you want to go with say a revo short shifter for a rsx. You'll also need a custom sub harness, IMO get it from hybrid, they are well known for their customer service and will help you troubleshoot everything even if it's not a wiring issue.
You will also need a jdm rsx type r ecu if you're going the thrifty route or get hondata k-pro if you're willing to spend the extra money, IMO it's worth it. This will eliminate the immobilizer issue with the stock ecu. For the axles, you can either get a custom axle from various sources or since you have access to the complete motor, use the stock rsx axles and switch out the outer ends with b series ones, this will allow the axles to fit. Many folks have use this method with great sucess.
There are many more small things like the thermo switch, fan switch, clutch line and ep3 pulley sets you'll need so I'd say you'll end up spending another 2-4k on parts aside from the motor swap. Also visit k20a.org, you'll find a wealth of imformation on there...
