K24 EG swap questions ???
i currently have 2 EG's
1 is my DD which sale is pending today for $2600-$2700
and the other my swapped H22 EG which will get the K24
with sale of my DD and H22 id hope to have atleast a $4300-$4400 budget
Now, I wasn't planning on doing a k24 swap, but i came across a K24 swap the other day @ the junkyard still in a TSX for $2,800
now my first question is
price wise is it a good deal ??
its includes everything motor tranny axles ecu harnes ect
2nd
once ive gotten the K24 will the remainder of my budget ($1500-$1600) be enough to get it running ???
3rd
would those axles work or will i have to spring for the hasport axles
any help is much appreciated
i really want to do this if i can afford it

Re: K24 EG swap questions ??? (mcvtec)
mark i think at that price is too much. i'd by a k20a2 over that k24 in this case bigger isn't always better. see with that k24 the head manifold etc is garbage. when people go k24 its because most swap out the head and change internals on the block. you have to research some more sign up on k20a.org and look around to get an idea. i believe the k24a4 is the one you for sure cant use the stock internals of the block when running a type s head. and $1500-1600 is not enough to get it running in my opinion.
swap header=$500-$1000
mounts=$450-550
kpro=$700-1000
axles=$250-$400
harness=$250-350
miscellaneous stuff like fuel lines, fpr, fuel rail, etc. $$$
all these prices all depend on which route you go as far as name brands and if you can find them used. but for sure i woudnt pay that for that k24.

the price wise from tsx k24 engine is reasonable, u mean the whole swap, engine and trany, harness and axles.ecu for 2800,right ?
but k series into eg chassis is not going to be direct bolt on. it requires a lot of parts and time and money.

yes doing a k series swap is time and money... k24a2 complete swap for 2800 good deal and it has real vtec but in one condition the tsx tranny would not fit in civic because aftermarket motor mounts have not yet made a mount for the tsx tranny so you'll be looking for rsx type s & r , 02-05 civic si, or rsx base tranny to mount onto the motor mounts they have develop already in the market. like team1320_k26eg stated the parts prices is all depend of brand names.
