k20 turbo civic...
Will a turbo kit made for the k20a2 engine fit on a k20 swapped civic? Anyone who has a k swapped civic, or even a k20 turbo civic, your input would be greatly appreciated.

That would be why I asked.
Though notice how that still has one inlet/outlet on each side - the picture has 'em both on the same - while it's true that I've seen some intercoolers that have the inlet/outlet both on the same side - it doesn't appear to be that way - 'tis why I was wondering.

Re: k20 turbo civic... (Syndacate)
it definetly has an intercooler. 99% of turbo k20s that I have seen have the inlet and outlet going to the same side of the car. Also if it didnt why would they have routed the piping over to the fender?

If that thing didnt have an intercooler they wasted alot of pipping space making the pipping go that way. Yes its intercooled.
I would go for a custom turbo kit because log manifolds dont help to much with power.

lol i'm just saying. A K20A2 in a hatch makes enough power to overpower most street tires anyway. This is if we're thinking about drag radials as street tires. I think you'd have traction issues even on slicks with a turbo K20 in a hatchback. That's all I'm trying to say.
Maybe you're not doing this on a hatchback....in either case, my statement still stands.
But I wont thread jack. Go on with your original thread. Fight with me on IM if you must

Re: (sleepyH22)
Yeah, my intercooler has the inlet/outlet on the same side. I was just wondering how tight a fit it would be. I got a '99 Civic shell just chillin in my backyard, and i got a type s that i just got a turbo kit for. The idea of the throwing the k20 into the civic and putting the turbo on that crossed my mind. Im not sure how difficult and tight the set up would be.

he hid it, why do you people know so little about these swaps but talk sooo much **** on them?
OP ya they have manifolds specifically for our cars, also they have these side mount turbo manis those almost always fit, it basically relocates the turbo right over the trans near the brake master cylinder

Maybe you're not doing this on a hatchback.... </TD></TR></TABLE> Actually, its a cpe. Im not saying Im gonna go through with it, but it is sitting in my backyard and i do have a k20a2 and a turbo in my reach. I dont want to spend alot on doing the project, I got the turbo for almost free and the shell was free. I was just wondering about some budget boundaries and the difficulty level on this project if anyone can offer me that. Im not mechanically retarded, Im in college majoring in Collision Repair and Honda Automotive, so I might be able to swing it on my own with the help of some reading and some friends. Has anyone on here actually done this swap on their own? Let me know what you all think. I dont know tho, I think I like driving my Type-s too much to rip it apart.
