k20 quick question
ive search and everyone is saying that a kseries swap is 7 8 or 9 g's. but when i am looking on hmotorsonline.com a complete swap is 4000.. i know you have to get new axles and mounts but that only adds up to around 700. and then for hasport shift linkage its 150 and the wiring harness is like 300.
how are people getting these prices?

Re: k20 quick question (**DOHC HaTcH**)
try k20a.org and well, you need to do custom fabrication too,you need a new fuel setup too bc the k series have returnless fuel unlike civics...a bunch of stuff too.People paint their engine bays and sand and drill holes and rent tools....

swap you can get for cheaper than 4000.
headers 300-1100
k pro 1000
mounts and hardware. 750
pnp harness 250-350
axles, radiator etc etc look at another 4-500 or so.

That's it...and that's all IF you're doing it yourself (not paying for labor of a shop).
@ OP:
You can find the K20's even cheaper, they're a pretty cheap engine. Not LS cheap, but cheap none-the-less. BTW: Just FYI hmotorsonline.com has RIDICULOUSLY high prices for motors (this is because they guarantee the motor w/ ~30k & 100% startup guarantee). As in ~1000 bucks for a complete JDM D15B longblock is some pretty fu8ked up **** IMO as the whole motor's worth like 150. So you pay more for a startup guarantee - has its ups and its downs - great if you got money.
So on that note, you can usually get a k20 easily from 1500-3k. It's even cheaper than what you said - but as vtecspeed1320 said, all the "accessories" add up and that's if you're doing the fabrication to install it yourself (and not paying a shop to do it).

after attaining everythng you need for the swap and labor costs and so on and so on.
but as syndacate said.. you can find those motors for even cheaper and if you do the work yourself you may only spend 5 or 6g's. . since you can pick a K20 up for like 3 grand or in the case of my friend 2300 but i think he just got lucky. .
