k20 or b20?
will both be able to fit in a 97 Honda Civic EX Sedan. If so where would you recommend to buy one? What all would i need for a engine swap? everything on my car is stock.

Re: k20 or b20? (IslandCivic)
Both swaps do fit in a civic with fabrication to mounts and frame rail.
H series fits in and sits at an angle with the VC leaning toward the firewall.
K series fits with alot of fabrication to mounts and the firewall I believe.
H2B fits in point straight up but lifting of the hood is recquired for clearance of the VC.
Reccomended is not known as we do not know your HP goals or budget....
For both swaps you will need different mounts, ECU, the motor obviously, fabrication to your existing wiring harness, axles, And other various things.
It is highly recommended that you do a little research on both swaps and see which one fits your wants best. Although as of right now the H is a little more practical as the k swap is expensive as all hell and so is fabrication to m ake it fit and operate properly.

i dont think you know waht fabrication means......
both swaps do not require any fabrication.....getting a j35 into a civic does...
b20 is easier since its a b series a k20 is harder but not hard
b20 swap = 2-3/10
k20 swap maybe a 4-5/10
6/10-being a turbo k20
i dont know not hard and you dont have to weld anything to get both motors into it
i fabricated a few ceaper brackets to cut down cost

Re: (posHonda)
Willing to spend 3000-3500 on an engine. I mainly just want a more powerful engine because stock engine kinda sucks nuts no? Does anyone know somewhere(website) where i can purchase an engine?

that budget kinda knocks the k20 out of your price range.
get a b16 since it drops right in, cheap (cheaper than a k20 anyway...) and its a decent little motor you can start out with seeing how you sound like ur still new to this, and correct me if im wrong (new to b20's) but its a bit stronger than the B20.
btw, a good place to get a quality motor is http://www.hmotorsonline.com
ALOT of people will vouche for this site. i would also check your local junk yard to see if they have any wrecked accords for your b20's, or maybe you'll get lucky and find a really cheap k20
gl though

CRV op b20 crv is any crv under the year of 2002..........then they are k24a1's which is the best canditadte for the hybrid as accords require new pistons and the tsx blocks are rare/expensive

Ya, the K's not hard, it just costs a expletive-ton.
Go with the B20 IMO. Underrated and overlooked, IMO. Everybody does K20's.
Not to mention it's a 2000 dollar swap vs a 8000 dollar swap...

Re: (IslandCivic)
Alright. I just swapped a B20 in my 96 civic lx sedan. I am very happy with the power it produces over the single cam it had. If you have the choice get a b20z instead of the b20b.... It haas a little more horse power. You are gonna need alot of stuff to do the swap such as, 99-00 Civic si trans and motor mount, 96-98 civic si rear t bracket, Integra shift linkage, Integra axles, And obd2 Integra intake manifold, An integra LS Throttle cable, An Integra LS ecu, Any B series Trans but i would deff do the SI or Gsr because the LS gears are a little long, I may be forgetting some stuff but these are fairly easy things to find. I did my whole swap for around $2000.00 including having someone help me do it. Here is the link to my build and if you have any questions just ask. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2115982 Good Luck.. Keep us posted

in the nicest way possible.
use the red Search option at the upper right corner of the screen.
it'll save you alittle time and humiliation. honda-tech isnt exactley the friendliest forum on the web.

Re: (JdelMsolG)
Dude deff search Honda-Tech to confirm the parts list i gave you before. It is the same as any B series swap. The only thing you need is an obd2 ls intake mani cause the b20 one is way to tall but everything is the same as an ls swap. i will try to get a list for you. Good Luck.
