k20 or b18
i cant decide to go with the b18 or spend the extra 2 for a k20. my budget is around 4 and will build by myself and tune by a friend. what are some goods/bads about a k20?

Unless you get a lot of parts for cheep, or use sub par parts you'll need more then 4 for a k swap.
There isn't anything wrong with either swap.
, what b18 would you be using?

If you have the money and are willing to spend it along with some time I say go with a K swap. If you are fairly new to the honda game stick with a B series and keep it somewhat simple. I highly doubt your friend can tune K Pro, which alone is in the 1k area. I am not saying he can't tune K Pro, but there are not many tuners out there that want to even mess with it. Its a totally different animal that Crome/Crome pro.

Why does this motor need to be tuned anyways? I can see a B series having to be tuned, but a K swap like an k20a2 or even a k24 would rip in a hatch or something fairly light with a stock ecu and bolt ons.

Yes thats a very fair price. K20a's from DC5's are absolutely crazy. You will rape B series including some built ones, and be able to rev to 8400 on a stock ecu which is rediculous. That motor holds its own.
