K-Series Specs

Well, I figured this would be some good reference material for all of you K-Series swappers. This should also help you to decide which engine you'd like to swap in. If you have anything to add, post away and I'll append as necessary. Feel free to help me fill in the question marks.

Special thanks to ojay for helping out with this.

Kpro is tuning software for the K20. You can't just use a regular ECU like you can with the rest of honda swaps. The K20 has to be dyno tuned in stock form.

By the way, this is all very common information, please search next time. I hate K's with a passion and I know the answers to this..

In any event, last I heard there's a big scandal with K-pro as a tuning program released on pgfmi.org as they were saying it was violating a contract or something - I don't know what the current status is but last time I heard it was under water.

By the way, the motor is only like 5k, if you look on hmotorsonline.com or something similar, yes, but after it's all said and done it's about a 8-11k swap. It needs, as I stated, custom tuned ECU, obviously special mounts, you need to re-do the entire fuel system, it's nowhere near as cheap as a regular B/H/F/D swap.

actually thats not completely true, the main reason if i remember correctly is the ecu for the k-series have immobilizers in them and k-pro you can disable the immobilizers.

on the other hand i completely agree and think that k-series are way overrated, i will stick to my h22, be a lil bit slower but save about 3-5k.

Someone posted Kpro downloader software on the pgmfi forum that allowed you to download the internal ROM from a K series ECU that had Hondata K Pro installed. Hoedata said Dave didnt act fast enough to remove their "intellectual property" fukcin dicks. in my opnion Honda should sue hondata for making a product and selling it with Honda's "intellectual property". In any case, yea K series are very expensive still. one day when they are most cost effective i will swap as well, untill then i await the H2B for the Hatch.

Hey syndacate... hehe, got my turbo parts yesterday. took that expensive n2o off. just need to get a custom manifold made and ill have a Cali street legal H22 civic Turbo 14psi with AC and power steering. maybe the end of summer.
