Hey guys, i'm new to this forum. I'm from Canada. It has come to my attention that K-series swaps are getting cheaper and cheaper. However few months back i read an issue of Honda Tuning and they were talking about the k series motors and how good they were. I read in another magazine where they had a feature car it was a k20a2 into a ek hatch. And the car ran low 12's stock! Whether this is bogus or not I haven't heard anyone complain about their swaps. I'm currently driving a 2000 SiR (Si), with a turbo on it making 340whp. However i am looking to go into k series motors because of their potential. From my sources i have heard they handle boost much better than the b series motors. Now the only thing holding me back is cost. I know i need to have some custom work done in order to fit the 6 speed in, i know the rad needs to be relocated, i know i need new mounts, problably custom exhaust. Have i missed anything? I'm sure someone here has done a k series swap and all the info i cna get would be great. And also maybe a list of parts and extra labor? And some performance numbers... is it really that big of a diference? Any info would helP!!

I'm not sure if they handle boost better than b series. I know they're being hailed as one of the greatest NA engines out right now. It's got pretty high compression so... I think the jdm k20a has 11.5:1 compression. I know you have less space to work with since the engine is flipped around from most (exhaust mani is in between firewall and engine) but I'm sure there are some good aftermarket kits.

I don't have one, so I can't tell you how good they are. But from what I hear they're GREAT. Don't forget you could have a 6 spd with lsd...
