Just Swapped In a B17 and Having Idle Issues---PLEASE HELP
OK. so last night I finished swapping my B17 motor into my 95 EJ1. The car had a wire tuck and was using a OBD2 engine harness for the SOHC motor that was in it. Since I had the b17 in my 94 LS I reused my OBD1 LS harness in the EJ1 with added wires for the VTEC solenoid and the pressure switch. I'm running the stock P61 ecu with the setup right now because the chipped PR4 was making the car run horrible. Anyways, down to the real problem.
I am having a horrible idle issue and it's making the car a pain in the *** to drive. I'm running a stock b16 intake manifold and the car is throwing 2 codes. #5-Map Sensor and #14 IAC Valve. Ok, so this sort of makes sense. There's a fair amount of vacuum ports on the manifold and there is a vacuum port on the map sensor. There is also another sensor that is black and has a vacuum port on one side. This sensor came off my teg and does not have a mounting point on the b16 manifold nor was this sensor used on the SOHC motor that was just pulled out of the EJ1.
So basically what happens is the car will start up and idle at about 1800 rpms then the CEL comes on and the rpms increase to 3000 then go back to 1500 and surge consistently thereafter. I need to know what senser need to be used and which ones need to be hooked up. Please help me get these vacuum lines straight.
The car ran fine and idled perfect before I pulled it out of the teg so I don't think the sensors are damaged. Also, I had the EJ1 idling properly for a couple minutes then the vacuum lines got mixed up.
I'll try to get some pics up in a bit.
