Oil pressure is quite a bit higher(at higher RPM) than trans fluid pressure. Not to mention that most aftermarket performance radiator(aluminum ones) dont have coolers integrated.

Still an outstanding idea non-the-less.

I would be worried about it bursting from the higher pressure.

The temperature of the coolant may not be that much cooler than the oil. The oil may heat up the coolant and limit the engine cooling effect. Not knocking the idea, just thinking it may be somewhat limited in effect.

I found a transmission cooler, same thing as an oil cooler, for about $20 used. If you're willing to make your own brackets, you could find something inexpensive.

I honestly don't know how you're supposed to feed the oil cooler. The oil pump feeds through the block, straight into the filter. I guess you'd need a remote adapter, and mount the cooler in line.

Some D and B-series engines came with factory oil coolers, i'd use one of those instead.

The coolers were probably meant for stock motors. How much would the stock cooler help a higher output motor? Then again, Honda must have figured the oil cooler was pointless enough to quit using them starting in 1996 on the GSR.

The type R integra uses an oil cooler. H22 Prelude and S2000 also use one. I am using an S2000 cooler on my G23, no issues.

I had the same idea but my plan was to use a cooler I sourced off a explorer. It has standard fittings not threaded ones. And its relativley small.
