Thats normal, new pipes smell real bad when just put on. If it smells like rotten eggs, your cat's gone bad. And the heartbeat sound happens too with certain exhaust setups. Don't worry about it, repost again in 5 days if it still does it.

the smell is probly the cosmalene that they spray all over the exhaust so that it doesn't corrode while it's being stored. also try resetting your ecu and letting your car idle for about 10 min. that might get rid of the weird idle.

I was just about to say that.
If i remember right, your suppose to let your car run first for 15min, than take out the negative from your battery(reseting ECU) and leave it out for more than 45min so it resets the entire thing. Because usually there are some backup power that keeps some memory in the ECU. B/t sometime your fan should come on and turn back off. Than simply put back on the negative.
-And now your car is running with its apex of any aftermartket product.
-Well, this is is just one of the way for a better performance, so that you car will run smoother with a new aftermarket product.
(Sorta like putting its full potential into use)

no need to take off the neg cable. you will lose all your presets etc when you do this. just remove the "back up" fuse under the hood. it's a 7.5 amp fuse. leave it out for about 10 sec. then put it back in and let the car idle for about 10 min and let her rip. basically the ecu is just relearning the set up your motor. how to make it run the best.

-But than again the way i said was just one of the way for a better performance, as stated in my previous statement.
