Default just lowered my car...

hey guys. question.

i just changed my suspension setup this weekend with a help of some ppl in my ek coupe. we put in tokico hp shocks and tokico springs. but the thing is my front doesnt seem like it was lowered. it might have gotten 1 inch. the rears look great. i have barely a 2 finger gap in the rears. in the front, i can almost fit 4 fingers.

my friends tell me its normal and that it'll settle in. but how is it that the rears "settled" in and the front didnt? is this true?

other than the fronts, the ride is definitely A LOT better. cornering is really nice. recommend this kit.

ill try and post some pics up in a couple of days so u guys actually can see the gaps.

is it for the right model? maybe its expecting something heavier in the front (like b series engine)

i know some people complained that the springs for the eg2 (del sol vtec) slightly raised the front of their eg1 (del sol s)

if the car dose not settle with in a couple days, then something is definatly wrong. either the springs are reverse or they are for another car.

Jeesus, you say you lowered the car to 2 finger gaps in the back?? I can hardly get 2 fingers in the front or the rear fenderwells on my car and it's sitting on a stock suspension.

A common thing ive seen is that the shocks are set all the way down into the fork. There is a little groove in the back of the fork that the shock has to go down into. If its not all the way down in the fork then the car will look like its not lowered. Check it out.

Hell, I suggest gettin on the door sills and jumping up and down a couple times. Sometimes this will shake things into place.

Were the springs made for a car with a B-series engine? If so they might be higher cause of your lighter D-Series. Rick

It shouldnt take a couple of weeks to settle no. After the first drive the should settle. Just go out and drive stupid, slam on the brakes and **** and turn the wheel alot. Kinda like go to a empty parking lot and act like youre auto crossing it.

That's odd, but good that it worked out. I know on my friend's Celica it dropped his back and raised his front...and the company said that they were designed that way. to the companys who sell lowering springs that don't lower properly.
