well..i just got a 92 Civic HB VX and its got a D15Z1 vtec..i looked up the specs on the motor..and i jsut about wanted to die..its only got 90 HP..lol bo i added the intake from my 89 CRX si (D16A6)..and it helped a lil more..but its still not enough for me. my Q is, is it worth it to Build on the Z1 and turbo it does ne1 know of any1 whos built on this motor b4..or do i just save my pennies and put a LS in it or put a 1.6lt SOHC vtec and boost it.??

Z1 is not worth doint anything to it,
maybe you can swab for a Z6 head or whole but still you wont get much.
Z1 is for gas mileage only

you can't put a vtec head from an si 1.6L on the z1 block cause the pistons will hit the valves.. get a dx block d15b7 and get a vtec head from an si.. do the mini-me vtec conversion.. an then turbo that.. but for them mean time keep saving your money with the z1 in the car.. and build your turbo mini-me vtec and have some fun.. put all that in the car in about a day.. vtec and turbo.. i like it.. enjoy!

Re: (CRX Junkie)
Depending on how high over 300 you want to go, i'd say some forged internals would be in order. That way you have more room to grow that just an all stock longblock. If you just want to break 300, then it's some headstuds and a great tune. TurboD16 has some good 300+ dynos.

I mean you can do it with a B or K series but you'll be running high risk of blowing motor unless you put tons of cash into rebuilding the engine itself.
