just got me a 92 hatch
Yep I got me a 1992 it is Phantom Gray Pearl. It still has the massive 70 horses under the hood. I have already stripped out the whole inside except the dash and
2 seats. It is already wired for a complete bolt-in vtec b-series swap because it is
Canadian.
Anyway the one question that I have got is that my friend he owns his own shop. There he has a d16. I was wondering if you can switch the intake manifold and head off of it onto my d15. I heard you can swap stuff off of differ motors as long as they are in the same "family" such as the d series.
Sorry if that was a newbie question but I'm normaly on Derek's 7thgencivic.com
website.
Thanks for all your help.

Hey man, you might want to try a head swap while you're at it. Right now you've got the 8-valve head which is more economy-oriented.
Real quick though:
What kind of budget are you on? Why even mess with the CX motor at all?

well the lady I got the car from just had the whole motor rebuilt last year. So I was going to run this motor for awhile. That way I can buy all the other extras that will switch over with the swap.

I totally agree with not wasting your money on stuff for the motor that you have in it now. You need to just save your money and but a swap ASAP.

Quick point... if it's the canadian model like you said, then you don't have 70HP you should have about 102. The canadian cx's got the american dx engine. We never got the 70HP wuss.
Something you might want to consider.

Re: just got me a 92 hatch (underrated99si)
I only gave 1800.00 for it. The lady I bought it from just put 1600.00 into the motor having it rebuilt around july last year.

mines a canadian cx, it came with the 8 valve 70 hp, and is not wired for vtec. doesnt have a tach either, and if it was canadian civic wired for vtec, u still have to add the knock sensor wire. if money is an issue, then u can always get a nice d16z-sohc vtec, i picked one up-motor,ecu,tranny for $500 with 50k on it. true its not DOHC VTEC, but itll surprise u, i ran 9.6s in the 1/8 with i/e/ and a del sol p28. i have a friend with a gsr/dx he only ran 9.4s. so i think i made a good choice. but otherwise yes the head will work, and u might wanna change the ecu too, the cx (p07) has @ a 5k rev limit and crappy fuel map.

all I have done so far is sri, rear strut bar, gutted the shyt out of it, took off the clear window tint "don't ask", tach, and put in my NOS nitrous kit. Which I haven't
used yet because I have got to finish the wiring for it. I have got a upper front bar coming, lowering springs, and msd ignition.

just swap in the D16 and a Z6/Y8 mission. even if you put that head on, you got such a long tranny that you'll never get out of 3rd gear.

NNNAAAWWWWWZZZZ yO!! j/k hahaha
it isnt worth the time and money to mess with that motor... as gutless as it is just drive around on it and bite your tongue. save every damn penny you could save for a swap, in a CX chassis something dual cam... youll thank yourself for waiting.. even though many people will smoke you for the time being
