Just got back from a long trip...

Hey guys, I just got back from the NSRA show in Louisville and I noticed a few things while I was driving...

My set up (Just for reference):
98 D16Y5 HX - 93K
Short ram
Slammed

Ok so...

1) This is something that's been buggin me for a while... My side mirrors are so shaky that I can hardly see anything in them. Does anyone else have this problem and/or know how to fix it?

2) VTEC-E... when the hell does it kick in? I've read so many different things I don't know what to believe. I've read anything from 2500-3000 all from extremely reliable sources, but I've felt it around 2900 while driving. Now, given that the Honda tachometer is less than reliable from what I've heard, does anyone have an official point where the crossover occurs?

3) Why the hell does anyone need 16 cylinders in a Cadillac? Just a thought.

There was something else... but I can't remember...

OH yeah!!!

4) My headlight socket is all f-ed up and I one of the connections is loose because I had a terrible time removing a bum ass bulb from the socket and I think I screwed it up. The problem is when i turn on the lights, the one is VERY dim and the brights won't come on in that light. Anyone know how to correct this? Right now I have the wire taped down in the position where it works correctly, but every once in a while, it comes undone and goes back to a near padiddle.

THANKS GUYS!

1. you can try removing the plastic and just tightening the screws that hold it. That is whats wrong with it.

2i could be way off...but that sounds a bit low that means when you are driving daily shifting at 3 you engage vtec and waste gas? i believe its higher then that some where around 5k https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif ( try searching https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif )

3 because it is the size of a boat https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

4. sounds like you just have some bad wiring like my old car had...you might wanna take it to someone to fix it up for you. Even though it cost money it will be alot safer, and atleast your lights would work all the time https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

2) Referring to VTEC-E, not VTEC. I have an HX.

Ok, we'll consider #1 and #3 answered, but still opened to comments. Anyone else have answers for the other two? Those really weren't what I was looking for.
