Just finished a GSR swap in my EK. A few questions.
It's a JDM B18c. USDM civic EX harness with the following mods:
Added secondary o2 sensor (OBD2)
Added IAB signal wire (2nd wire to chassis ground, right?)
Modded CKF signal wires. (per katmans instructions on ff-squad)
Using OBD2 USDM GSR ECU
First off, my e-brake light is always on. I jiggle my ebrake handle and the light never goes out. Never did this before the swap so why now? Is this connected to my ECU some how?
I don't know if my vtec engages. I don't know if my IAB engages either. The motor is completely stock without any CEL. This is my first VTEC engine and I really don't know what to expect.

its not just a ebrake light
it also comes on if your fluid is low.
there's a sensor on the back of the ebrake, if this comes loose it will stay on.
do you feel/hear a difference at the vtec engagement point?
you can literally hear the difference.

My fluid looks fine. I'll check on a few other things. Can the brake light come from the ECU?
I think my vtec and IAB is engaging. I think I feel it at higher RPM's closer to around 6-7k. I was reading the helms manual and it states Vtec activates at 4500 and IAB at 5750. I have a stock intake so I think that may muffle the audible noise if any. Right?

Re: (zerovandez)
The brake light will only illuminate with the e-brake switch activated or if the fluid is low. It also lights up when you turn the key to ON, but that's only for a few seconds. You should take off your center console and check that switch. If that is working like it should, you need to look and see if your fluid sensor is either disconnected or if the bob is gummed up and sticking. When was the last time you replaced your brake fluid?
You might not be able to "feel" VTEC, but you can hear the IAB activate, though. Take off your filter top and go run through a couple of gears, and you'll hear it most definitely. If it's working...

Would a CEL indicate that it's not working? Again, I don't have CEL so I can't really tell if it's malfunctioned. I did start the car and notice the IAB going into the closed position so i know there's vaumme. When I ran the wire to the sensor, I grounded the terminal below it to my chassis. This is ok right?
