My Helms shows 242 is the service spec for a B16A2.

Your engine looks nice and healthy

EDIT: Sorry, looked at the wrong number. 242 is actually the normal compression for a B16A2

Does Cylinder #4 seem low to anyone on test 2-4? It gave me a code 74 about a month and a half ago, but it hasn't showed up since.

When I did a compression test on my old B16, I got around 250 for each cylinder. Motor was internally stock, and only mods were header, skunk2 IM, and AEM CAI. If helms says 200 is within spec, then I wouldn't worry since you are over. Just saying that I got around 250 for my particular b16....mine was the JDM SiR2 motor though, that might make a difference...

see, I wasn't sure which motor you have. You are right, the SiR2 does have higher compression than the USDM counterpart, but not by much (only 0.2). Unfortunately I don't have that motor anymore, so I can't go and do an up-to-date compression test to compare to your numbers.

I thought a .2 compression increase wouldn't make for a 50 psi increase, so I went back and checked the Helms.

I get a big fat because the normal psi (for a new engine) is actually 242, with a maximum variation of 28 psi.

Sorry guys
