speedometer...just curious
I recently sold my 92 dx hatch, but I'm just curious:
Does anyone know what would cause the speedometer needle to jump around?? I would be driving and it would jump around a little, and then it wouldn't work at all. Then it would jump again and start working again. It would also jump around if I was just sitting at a light. Thanks!!!

The contacts on the back of our stock gauge clusters are well known for going bad and inducing the kinds of effects you're describing. My brother's hybrid does the same thing and we're working on getting a gsr cluster in there to remedy the problem.

Not enough power getting to the speedo, faulty VSS, or loose connection on either the power or data wire going to the speedo.
