Default just copped

a 94 EG hatch CX trim level, i'll have pics up sometime this week.
going the h22/b16trans route.
ripping out all the interior and painting it flat olive drab, i plan on making it an auto x car

i'm already aware that its the shittiest model, and i dont care much for a sun roof, the engine is being swapped anyways. and sway bars arent very expensive.

probably not a big deal to you guys but im happy to finally have a hatch

an h22 autox car? you are going the wrong route imo. that engine makes that car handle like **** because of the weight of the engine compared to the weight of the car.

i did some research because of that, but apparently the h22 is only around 30lbs more than a b16, granted im not using the shitty h tranny.

cx is actually the best model for the route you're going to. if the rles allow i suggest you bust out a mig

and at the very least fillet weld the chasis

if you have time drill a hole through both panels then fill

for the seam sealer
and grab a stick welding wire brush and a drill wire brush attchment. either that or burn it off

grind the paint off or you're never going to get an arc

take off as many bolts on the interior as possible and lose alot of the random brackets.

do the rules allow you to run lexan? if so DO IT

any FRP or painted carbon fiber panles also help out.

its completely stock except for the ractive intake (lol) and the ricer fart can that the guy before had put on the car, i will be cutting that off ASAP.
i work at a welding/fabrication shop, so we will probably be making alot of the stuff for the car, the exhaust and roll cage to name a couple.
but for $1500 you cant go wrong.

edit: the hood and hatch will be carbon when i get the money, and lexan happens to be pricey.
i plan on adding some welds to the chassis. and mig isnt the way to go.

Sounds good if the difference is not much. I have never heard anyone say that their h22 eg handled well tho. Good luck with the build and keep us updated!

Is there a specific tech question you had, or did you just want to tell us all that you got a car?

That's "Miss" to you.

This is the wrong section. This is a tech section. I would recommend that you read the forum rules before you post.

And I actually wasn't trying to be sarcastic really. I was asking to see if this was on topic or not. It does sound like you just wanted to tell us all and I was making sure before I reported it.
