Okay, let's analyze this...cf hood....okay, that looks nice. CF deck lid...badass. CF ROOF?!?!?! That's probably the coolest thing I have ever seen done with a sol thus far.

that carbon fiber looks like ***..over all the car looks good and im not saying its a bad idea for you to getthe carbon roof but if you look at the deck lid you can see the waves in the finish/weave that just looks horrible it either needs to be sanded down and cleared and then sanded and buffed or they need to buy some quality carbon pieces

Call Fiber Images or another big company and ask how much it would run you to get a cf roof/decklid run.

I believe that car was on ebay. What I saw that I thought was cool was the plexiglass roof. Of course people can see in enless you get it tinted. But I thought it was pretty neat. And also, Beandip, the roof isn't that light. It's 24 lbs. IMO that's pretty damn heavy.

Hey Folks...I've never been over to this board, but someone forwarded this thread to me...

These carbon fiber trunk lids have been in the works for months and should be done within the next month. Hopefully sooner. They are being made by FiberImages for my company Team Sol Designs. They are $600 plus shipping.

Carbon fiber roofs will get done, but I have not worked out the details yet. My initial plan is to get FiberImages to do the carbon fiber top and then get Ameripol (the company that already makes the clear del Sol roofs) to let me use their interior piece). It would end up a combined effort. FiberImages had concerns with that interior piece since it involves several bolts, but since Ameripol already invented that years ago (and I know the owner) this might work out. If FI does not make the cf piece, I have other plans.

Before people complain about the price (if you were thinking about doing that)...I've heard it all before. YES, these are expensive. I totally agree. That was the price I had to go with or these would not have been made. I had enough people expres interest and pre-pay, so we went with it. I could have gone with a cheaper company, but I wanted consistant top quality product, so that was FiberImages. YES, these are more expensive than a carbon fiber hood. Why? Because FiberImages knows that these will only sell to a very select market and that they will not sell tons of these like they would with a carbon fiber hood. Less demand makes them jack prices up. They need to cover their initial costs with developing the pieces and molds and then turn a profit. That's just the way this type of thing works unfortunately. If that price is too steep, sorry.

I will have the first of these by the end of January and will get pictures up as soon as possible. I hope to have the carbon fiber roofs done by April, since they should theoretically not be too tough to get done (if everyone cooperates).

If you are interested in one of the trunk lids, I already have 11 people who have pre-paid. Since FI has has not made that initial batch yet, the initial offering price of $600 is still in effect. After the first batch is made, the price raises to $650. If you want one, email me and we can discuss getting the money. If you wait, you can still get them, but you willpay $50 more.

Oh, about the roof weight...our Sol roofs are not actually all that light. I've had the Ameripol acrylic roofs and they are about half the weight. I figure that the carbon fiber ones will be about the same. It's basically light enough to hold easily with one hand.

For those of you that do not know me, I am the guy who started Team Sol Intl. I've been selling stuff to fellow Sol enthusiasts for years and never had a complaint or problem. You can ask around on other boards like darkSol or HondaVision if you want people to back me. I'm basically saying that I'm a trustworthy kinda guy and you should not have concerns about buying from me or pre-paying me on stuff like this. It's not like I am going to disappear.

yup hes trustworthy. ill be getting my CF trunk lid in the first batch. i already pre-paid a while ago. you guys can trust todd, he never had any negative feedback, and ive known him 3+ years. 600 is a lot, but this is about the same price as the civic trunk lids and what not. considering that this is fiber images stuff, the quality and fitment should be perfect and what u are paying for is the quality.

BUMP!

krazy

EDIT: TODD, make sure u post it in the classifieds instead of best buys. best buys are for h-t sponsors and such. and u have to IM teken to get a business front set up. let me know if u need any help or references.
